Talking about bowel symptoms can be uncomfortable for a lot of people but at the end of the day we all poo and some people have issues with this but it’s more common than you think!

You should never feel embarrassed to go seek medical help about bowel issues or speak to others about bowel issues. The doctors have seen it all and many times before. And that few minutes of embarrassment could actually save your life!

Not everyones symptoms are the same and many of the symptoms can be the cause of many different things, not just bowel cancer. My advice would be to get any persistent symptoms checked, anything that’s unusual for you and lasting more than 2 weeks.

The main symptoms include:

  • changes in bowel habits
  • blood in or on your stool
  • unexplained weight loss
  • abdominal pain
  • persistent fatigue
  • feeling of incomplete emptying

There may be others but you know your body better than anyone.

Never be ashamed to talk about your bowel issues. It’s natural and by talking about it we are breaking the stigma, creating awareness and hopefully preventing the worst case scenario. ❤️
